South Shropshire Furniture Scheme is a registered charity and social enterprise. The organisation, established in 1994, collects donated furniture for re-use and recycling. Donated household items are delivered to people on low incomes in the South Shropshire area. To assist in financing this service it manages two high-quality used furniture shops, the Renaissance Centre in Ludlow and the 'R' Shop in Church Stretton. It also has an open floor warehouse in Ludlow where a large range of low cost household items are available for sale to the public. The scheme has its own carpentry workshop where pieces of furniture are restored and refinished for resale on the high street. The organisation operates with the help of over 70 volunteers and trainees as well as a number of paid staff. In order to become financially sustainable, the organisation has diversified to deliver a range of training that is particularly aimed at the disadvantaged. Courses include, Computer Recycling and Refurbishment, Carpentry and Customer Services. CEO Jean Jarvis is a Social Enterprise ambassador and frequently works in an advisory capacity to help other charities and organisations become more financially sustainable. SSFS is currently running a project called 'Sustaining Rural Communities' that is funded by Big Lottery. The project offers help to other groups that wish to become less grant reliant. ==See also== Social Enterprise Reuse Veolia Environnement 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「South Shropshire Furniture Scheme」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
